Default Getting to know the folks here

For me it was just a matter of finding the most easy to remember names and
personalitys first ( you can take that anyway you like but what I mean is
the most outspoken, and quirky names and temperments, then the others became
more familiar as the years went by. Squeaky wheels are the easiest to
remember. :-)

I'm not sure if this is off-topic or not. I'd like to get to know the
people here, so I will recognize names. Is there an introduction file
area where people have posted intros, so I can make a list of names,
places and what the person quilts, so I can become familiar with you
all? If not, how on earth did you keep each other straight when you
first came here?

Hi all,
After many years of being online with both AOL and now (in addition) a
broadband server, I have never looked into how and where to post photos on
the web. Can anyone give me any advice as to where to post? I'm fairly
proficient with my digital camera so I guess I'm just looking for a site on
the web for this purpose. How does this work, oh great ones?? Thanks in
advance!

I didn't keep everyone straight when I first came here. Not by a long shot!
But I just started to get to know one or two people at a time, and then as
the months went by, of course the list grew. I know how overwhelmed you can
feel here at first, but just focus on a few to begin with. And keep telling
us things you are working on, questions you have. You'll get to know us.
And.... we'll get to know you! : )

Hi Muggywort, (love that!
It is hard when you're memory challenged, (speaking for myself), but nobody
here seems to mind...maybe they forget too?
I tend to assign cartoon characters to folks to help me keep things
straight...(I'm like the gopher in the Winnie-the Pooh cartoons. I pop in
and out, bumble around, and fall into my own holes a lot.)
Just hang in there and say 'yes' and laugh and sound like you know what
you're talking about. You'll fit right in.

I hung around here for quite a while and noticed that lots of the gals here
used webshots. So that's where I went and what I use. Nice and easy to get
pictures posted there. It might be a good place for you to start and if you
ever get your own website, you can move them over there!!!

You could try

www.webshots.com they have a free posting service...
http://photos.yahoo.com if you have a yahoo account
There are also a number of free web site servers where you could show off
your quilts (just watch the bandwidth....ask how I know lol)

Hi Muggywart!!!
Welcome to the group. Not sure if I welcomed you or not.
It just takes time to remember people here. I still can't remember who is
who, but I'm slowly getting there.
Be patient, it will fall into place for you.

There was an intro thread not too long ago. Do a Google search for +intro+
maybe. Anyone remember what the thread title was?
