Searching for machine/commercial-rolled flashed glass
well, i hate to tear y'all from your name calling but i have lost my closest
glass supplier (they sold out to the meganolopitic wannabe Art Glass House) so now, not only is courtesy and client satisfaction a nonentity, but i have lost a source for Fremont. I have called and e-mailed their posted access in vain but as an addict to the glass i may have to rise above the crappy service and see if any of y'all have a connection? thanks, m "Javahut" wrote in message ... wrote in message oups.com... Certainly knowledgeable enough to know the difference between an ace and an ass. Your name calling goes far in showing the glass enthusiasts just exactly what you are. Neither knowledgeable, nor a gentleman, nor particularly astute in the English language or netiquette, but you are probably above that and it doesn't apply to you. |

Airy? Their ATL branch staffing was the "gold standard" for rude and unhelfpul. Sounds like they will fit right in with AGH. |

Searching for machine/commercial-rolled flashed glass
Javahut wrote: "John O. Riordan - Riordan Artistry" wrote in message oups.com... Thanks Dennis Brady and Javahut. I have followed your link, Dennis, to VictorianArtGlass/St.Just, and it does look promising. Javahut, I will check out Fremont in Seattle. This newsgroup is sometimes goofy, but I must say that it almost always comes up with the goods. Thanks again, John That's pretty funny, all the double talk and BS has confused the poor guy. By the looks of it John, you are in Chicago, save yourself the grief, Fremont makes mouthblown glass, not commercial Flash, that was Dennis's run at genius. I would suggest the bigger wholesalers that are also importers, don't know who the importer is of St. Just, but if Rainbow has it on the East coast, I would hazard a guess and think that they may be it, or Bendheim or Hollander, there is a Hollander branch in Chicago area, tell Ed or Diane, if they are still there, what you need. Ed Hoy's in Naperville, big maybe, and a bigger PIA to do business with. What about CR Loo on the west coast? They used to be involved with importing mouthblown, are they still? In your eagerness to slam Brady you have confused the issue. Fremont makes flashed glass. The OP did not specify that he wanted machine rolled, or commercial, or any of the variations of full antique, or whatever you seem to have inferred. Fremont is in the center of the known universe (Fremont dist.Seattle)and imo the most attractitive and unique sheet glass made in the world that is sold as a raw material and not art unto itself. I credit Fremont in great part for my inspiration and work of the last five years or so. So Javahut, just **** off with the Brady thing. You're becoming an annoying little fartknocker. DW |

"Javahut" wrote in message ... "Vic" wrote in message oups.com... St. Just makes what is refered to as commercial flashed glass. It comes in red/clear and blue/clear. It is thin.snooth and with no seeds. Who is carrying it? Hollander or Bendheim? Hollander East has loads of it. Most of it left over from 2 moves ago when they were in Queens. They can't give the stuff away it seems? -- "Don't get me wrong... I'm SNARKY" JK Sinrod Sinrod Stained Glass Studios www.sinrodstudios.com Coney Island Memories www.sinrodstudios.com/coneymemories |

DW As long as you want to go getting involved, and not having the common sense to READ the OP, I quote... "Hi Folks, I am revisiting a subject from 6 years ago or so out of necessity and desire. Where can one find a reliable source of commercial grade, flat, flashed glass suitable for detailed sandblast etching." I will be eager to slam Brady every single time he opens his big yap to something he has no knowledge of just to see his name in print. Bad information is as good as none. And if you want to make this personal and tell me what I am becoming, step up to the plate... Calling me little is your first mistake, sticking your nose into something and starting with name calling can work in reverse to, you little ****-ant. You have managed to **** off everyone in every glass forum and board you have ever been on, why the hell should I pay any attention to what you have to say. You may be a glass artist, and that is what this board is about, but you TELL me what to do or think and you can go **** up a rope for all I care. You want to join the Dennis fan club, knock yourself out, there will be no problem finding seating in the meeting hall, there aren't that many of you. But don't for one minute think I am going to give your comments any more thought than what they are, bull****. Are you looking for a drop ship discount when you buy from him? |

I'm not sure how to use the usenet anymore. The subject line I saw was,
"Fremont Antique". As far as wether Fremont is commercial grade and flat, I suppose that's relative. I didn't read it as 'machine rolled.' You are right in a sense. But I would correct you to say that, I have ****ed off THE AUTHORITIES on every glass board I have been on. For that matter, every guild and organization I've been on. Perhaps because I'm a socialist and an egalitarian and more simply just don't like pompous morons of the type that gravitate toward leadership positions. Mostly they are just glass poseurs anyway. Which brings us to Brady. I'm NOT in the Brady fan club. I do think Dennis is bombastic and hard to take at times. But I object to the GRATUITOUS bashing of him when he is trying to offer help to a poster. And you two are the main offenders. You make this board a drag to visit. |

Dude, you couldn't scare me off on your best day.
Moonraker... what's that handle about? Like, you're a 007 nerd? Or maybe, you are ever striving for new heights? My guess is its a special tool you've invented for grooming your own ass. Just remember, don't mix up the tooth raker with the moon raker. Blechh. Oh, sorry. You forgot to label them didn't you? |

Key phrase, "trying to offer help to a poster" too many times, it isn't and the continuous preaching of adapting is gaining on ridiculous. we shall leave that out of this, at least I will. You have put yourself on a platform, by ****ing people off with such regularity that you are now on that "Authority" platform of an equal height to them. By being so eager to BE, and to align yourself with, an underdog, regardless of whether or not the cause is just, is antagonistic in itself. Why? two main "offenders" , a "drag to visit"? in the first phrase, offenders are determined by an AUTHORITY, correct? and in the second, For those that don't take this(the NG) to be their entire world and not all that serious, I thought it to be rather entertaining and not nearly as boring as it could be.... it's alot of work being creative with the mud slinging...I do try not to resort to name calling, but I can do that with the best of them. |
