Default c-lon beading thread and sterling jewelry tags

hey everyone,

I'm coming out of lurker mode with a few questions.

I just wanted to know what everyone thinks of the c-lon beading thread and
was also wondering where I might get those little engraved sterling jewelry
tags you can attach to your necklaces.

thanks!

Kathy -- where do you buy c-lon?

So far, I think I'm the only one using C-Lon and I like it. It seems to be
equivalent to SoftFlex, and I got a good deal on it. As always, I use
sterling crimp beads on it and give it a good tug before proclaiming the item
finished. Haven't had a piece fail on me at all, and the drape is pretty.

Those tags are available from www.monsterslayer.com, but you also have to
have the die made to punch your intitals or design on it. (Hallmark?
Shirley, is that it, or is that something else) I'm thinking of asking for
the punch, anvil, hammer and some tags as my birthday present.

Hallmarks have to be registered with the Assay Office here in UK. That
is so no one else is allowed to use a hall mark that is the same. This
is for using with precious metals. One has to pay to get the mark
registered then again every 10 years to keep it .

I would not think that one needs to register a tag that has just got
their name on it as the maker. A punch would be required to do them
professionally. Hand engraving would take forever and would have to be
really good to make an impact. I would say it would be better if you
could find someone who can do it by machinery.

Love the C-Lon...it seems to split and stretch much less than Nymo.

Has anyone seen jewelry tags in gold-filled?
