Default Lace type stuff

Long ago I made lace type edging for dresses and such. This was crocheted. Now
I find little available in the trim department and what is available tends to be
from very coarse fiber that scratches.

The problem is I can not find my pattern book from over 30 years ago and I can
not remember how I made crochet lace. Seeking ideas.

I also once did some tatting. I even found the tool not long ago. Can't
remember how to use it.
