Default Janome 6600P - Price?

Hi everyone,
I have been a lurker since October 2005 when I purchased my Janome at
the Houston Quilt Festival.
I want to sell it and want to know if anyone has purchased one in the
last six months and what you paid for it. It is hardly used and at my
age with a full time job I had to be realistic and choose between my
hobbies and photograhy won.
I want to sell it for a fair price hopfully to someone in my quilt
guild.
Thanks a bunch,
Karen in Austin, Tx

Default Janome 6600P - Price?

I just bought a new 6600P, so I can't tell you what a used one would
sell for... but my dealer had a 1 yr. old 6500 priced at $995. The
6600 sells for about $350 more than a 6500 when both are new. Putting
all that together in my little head, it indicates yours would be worth
somewhere betwen $ 1000 and $1300 if it was for sale at a Janome
dealer??? My dealer also gives free classes and 3 yrs. free
adjustments and servicing, so that would have to be taken into
consideration that their used machines would be worth a larger price
than yours, too. (There is a book equivalent to a used car guide that
gives the dealers a value on trade-ins. You might call a Janome
dealer and ask if they would check the value of your machine.) The
real value is whatever someone is willing to pay for it- cars, houses,
sewing machines- it's all based on what the buyer will pay. Sorry
you changed your mind about quilting and good luck selling your sm.
