Some opinions please, maybe some advice
Hello all,
I've been working with leaded glass for little over a year now and starting to get the hang of the technique. At least, I think do. I've made some quite different things, but I'm sort of looking for a style of my own. I know I like the ornaments and patterning of eastern cultures, especially the tapestry and I'm trying to integrate these patterns into my designs. Sometimes I think it's a bit awkward though, because tapestry allows a much more fine-grained design than you can ever have when using leaded glass. Therefor I try to combine leaded glass with Tiffany. Anyone that does the same thing (combining Tifffany and leaded glass) or maybe knows someone who does? Or anyone that got some opinion or constructive criticism for me. Her are a few of my designs : http://members.chello.nl/b.blommerde/ |

If you're looking to add increased detail to your designs, you might consider fusing or painting. An increasing number of glass artisans are including fused (and slumped) components into their stained glass work. You can even produce woven glass with not only the design, but the texture of woven cloth. |

Thanx for the responses.
If you know of some examples on the web of cloth/carpet like glass art, please link them for me. I'm very curious about what can be done with the techniques you mentioned (fusing, sandblasting, acid etching). |
