One of those quilts from hell... I'm pretty happy with how it turned
out, but I think I aged YEARS since starting it about 6 weeks ago.

It was my first quilt to ever have puckers/pleats on the back, and a
good chunk of it was done before I discovered them, so LOTS of frog-
stitching. Nothing bled on any white anywhere--except the label. Not
bad, but makes it look not fresh. Discovered how tricky stitch in the
ditch is on a frame, and decided eventually to do the SID in the
borders on my sewing machine...

On the other hand, maybe I should stop whining. Whoever receives it
has gone through real hell. And I do love the colors.

It's beautiful, Heidi! I love the way you photograph your quilts--laying
flat and then over the chair!!

Thanks, Donna. That started early on. I just couldn't get a picture
that looked like the quilt *felt. Chalk it up to being a lousy
photographer!

Beautiful quilt, Heidi. The stripey border really sets it off. :-)
The recipient soldier will be very glad to have it.

Best regards,

Oh, Heidi, that's just *gorgeous*! It seems to shimmer with all of those
different-yet-similar reds. Whoever gets that will love it, I'm sure.

Thanks, all! I'm a little embarrassed to say I've got a bit of a
Pygmalion thing going on. I really disliked it as a top, second-
guessed myself all over the place, hated all the grief it put me
through--and am very pleased with it now. I didn't dream the reds
would be as rich as they are!
