Amber Dream Ebellished Bracelet
I am nearly finished with the embellished bracelet that originally came from
Sooz, but I received the instructions from Margie, and got the inspiration from Peggy! LOL I have had a great time makeing this bracelet. It is for a client that ordered wanted a natural, earth tones bracelet. I cannot decide on a toggle. I think it needs gold with the colors I have choosen. This bracelet is designed with 4mm Firepolish Topaz, 4mm Citrine & Amber Druks, 6mm Topaz Druks, 8mm Amber and Topaz Druks, and 2mm Czech Crystals for a little more sparkle. And a mix of Amber, Topaz and dark Topaz seed beads. The base is made from 6(o) matte yellow gold beads. Here is the link to veiw the piece: http://www.empressbeads.com/bracelets.htm Any other ideas on how to finish this piece would be great. That is one of my weakness as a designer. One of my other weaknesses that I think I am overcoming is color. I went all out on this piece. I will be making more of these as Christmas gifts this year for all of the women in my family. Money is tight and me and my husband have decided we are making many of our gifts for our families this year. I will be making beaded Christmas ornaments too for everyone! And possibly some necklaces for everyone. That is three gifts right there. I just hope I can cram all of this in! I am still here. I have just been super busy. I will talk more after the holidays are over. Thanks AMY http://www.empressbeads.com |

My suggestion would be to branch out the colors a bit...something contrasting,
like some metallics in gold or bronze, ...hm...what other colors?...just something to "deepen" the pallet.... The Blessed Fiddy, Patroness Saint of the Disorganized LC in Sunny So Cal Personality Development Specialist (Full-Time Mom!) |

Oh, I like it! Especially the way you finished the edge. Smooth, subtle,
and sophisticated!! I'm flattered that you mentioned my name in the same message with this bracelet. How about finding a nice piece of amber and using it like a button, with a loop of seed beads around it for a clasp? 'Course it might be hard to match the color, at least if you have to order on-line. I'm sure you'll find the perfect clasp. I'd love to see the finished bracelet when you do! Amy, thats a real beauty. I don't love bracelets as far as to wear them but I
do adore the color and how everything goes together there! As a finish/clasp, I'd use an antique button and loop. Sarajane Sarajane's Polymer Clay Gallery http://www.polyclay.com |

It's hard to work in a monochromatic colour scheme and still achieve depth,
but you have done a good job. Perhaps you could try a multi coloured bracelet by indtroducing purples to the amber and citrine. Have you thought of using a beautiful button as your closure? -- Marisa (AU/NZ) www.galleryvittoria.com "She who dies with the biggest stash, wins." |

I really like the button idea. I have something in mind. I hope I can find
it. In general how large should the button be? As large as the bracelet or slightly smaller? Thanks for everyone's feedback! I can work monochromatically, but that extra color I can't seem to incorrporate into my designs and feel confident about it. I am hoping to get the bead color book for Christmas this year. I am registered at Amazon for it. I have heard it is really great. Thanks for the advice Marisa. My next two color schemes are Blue and Red to Pink. Any ideas for these would be much appreciated. Maybe add a little purple to the blue? Would there be another better color? I have the base beads I will begin sewing soon. Thanks AMY http://www.empressbeads.com |

I see something goldtones/antique brassy and ornate, maybe with a center inclusion even....buttons are wonderful things. Sarajane Sarajane's Polymer Clay Gallery http://www.polyclay.com |

OOooooo - very pretty! I think I would finish it off with a brass button for a
clasp! Carol in SLC Some of my stuff: http://members.aol.com/carolinslc/karen.jpg http://members.aol.com/carolinslc/katie.jpg http://members.aol.com/carolinslc/oceansprite.jpg http://members.aol.com/carolinslc/jarvis.jpg |

In general how large should the button be? As large as the bracelet or
slightly smaller? Large enough to be secure when holding the bracelet together. Aside from that, it's purely aesthetic, and up to you. ~~ Sooz The things that will destroy us a politics without principle; pleasure without conscience; wealth without work; knowledge without character; business without morality; science without humanity, and worship without sacrifice. - M.
