Default Quilt shops in Dubuque, IA?

I will be moving to Dubuque, IA next week, are there any quilt shops near
by? I checked the Quilter's Companion Travel book and didn't see any.
Where are the quilt shops in Iowa?

Hi Andrea. I live in Ames, IA. We have lots of neat shops in Iowa!! I
don't know of any shops in the Dubuque area as I never head that way. I
have errands to run Mon. so when I'm out I'll stop by the LQS and pick up
the free little flyer/paper that has that stuff in there and see what it has
listed for that area (unless someone else here responds before then).

Andrea, it's been a couple of years since I was in Dubuque, but at that
time, I found a relatively new shop in the Fourth Street area. I think there
also may be one in Bellevue, which is south of Dubuque, and one in Galena,
Illinois. The next closest one is probably in Anamosa, or you can drive to
Marion, where we have three shops, or to Cedar Rapids, where I think there
are two right now. Oh, and there's one in Manchester, which is on Highway
20.

Hope that helps a little! Rest assured, we do have quilt shops in Iowa.

Ok, now I need someone to spell out how this city name is pronounced
phonetically.

I was just in Dubuque earlier this summer. There is a shop downtown,
near the base of the elevator car. They are moving, less than a
block away. Don't know what else is in Dubuque...
There is also a shop in Galena IL (not too far away) but they had a
sign about going out of business. In other years I have been to shops
in Lena and Pearl City IL. I've seen them listed in shop hop ads
lately so suspect they are still around.
There is also a shop in Fulton IL, just across the bridge from Clinton
IA.
Good luck on your move to Dubuque. I'm waving at you from Rock
Island, south along the Mighty Mississippi from you.

There is a nice shop in Cresco, though that is probably too far from
Dubuque to be considered local. It is closer than Ames, though.

It rhymes with rebuke.
