Default hat band problem

Hi, I have made several loom creation hatbands of varying widths trying to
find a width that did not have gaps when you sew them to the crown of the
hat. My first was about 15 seed beads (size 11) wide, then I tried a 10
wide and now a 7 wide and they all gap. does anyone have the solution to
this or a website that might tell me how to remedy this?

Thanks,
..............Windy

Windy,

I'm not an expert, but I should think that you'd need to reduce the
number of beads in the row as you near the top of the band, to
accommodate the narrowing of the crown of the hat.
