I'm sure it wasn't a subtle comment, I'm sure it was because that's the
coins they can get their hand on! I mean, if I wanted to show size
reference using a coin, I would bunt a 10p piece next to it. It wouldn't be
making a comment, it would be because that's what I had!

Oh, I'm sure they were!
It was just very unusual to see a coin that I didn't recognize for a size
reference.
That was the first and only time I had ever seen that.
Maybe they were trying to make a subtle point about Americans us using
quarters and dimes. LOL!
Anyway, I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone with that comment.

Once I saw a person list an auction with a *foreign* coin for size
reference, and it really struck my funny bone. I had no idea how big

the
coin was in real life. For all I know, it could have been one of those
honkin' a$$ big coins that you can only fit three in your pocket at a
time!..LOL!
Oh well, what can you do but =oD .....

But, they may have been foreign. Not everyone who lists on the eBay.com
site is American!

Well, now that I have both feet in my mouth, maybe I should just shut up.
Obviously that was an observation I should not have made a comment on.
Please accept my sincere apology.

I didn't mean to sound harsh! Just that it probably wasn't a dig at the US!
More that most people from other countries don't have dimes or whatever
they're called lying around!

So, here is what you do. Go to your local bank and have them procure for
you, a coin from every country you might possibly find yourself selling to
on Ebay and arrange them artistically around your beads. It is the only fair
and right thing to do so that everyone can get a clear idea of the size of
your beads. I will be happy to send you a sampling of Canadian coins to
start your collection.

Yeah, and most of we "foreigners" wouldn't have a good idea of how big
some FOREIGN country's 25 cent piece is!

And I'm sure just as soon as I did that, someone would inquire about the
lovely coin collection I had up for auction. LOL!

Now, there's a swap idea! I had thought this myself when I saw the mention
of foreign coins. Mike asks me about US coin sizes regularly, but
fortunately we have a quarter and a dime from my sis when she visited.
(She's not much of a tipper, even though I did put a chocolate on her
pillow. Is it my fault it melted??)

I think it would be great to use a set of coins from around the world as a
comparison. I see some auctions with tape measures or rulers but that's not
as exotic. Unless it was a beaded ruler...

Note to self: Keep Sooz's handy bead size chart taped to wall behind the
monitor.

I just ordered, and recieved some beads from a seller who is quite
reputable.. good descriptions and measurements on her site, and even tho I
thought I knew what 4mm would look like I really didnt....a ruler didnt

shed
any light. Reality did. Holding those pretty little crystals in my hand
showed me what 4mm looks like. Now I know. There is no way Id leave

anything
but positive feedback for my order. lol I am the mixed up one, not the
seller.

A bead size chart next to your monitor really helps a LOT.
