The only places I'd go back to
are Disney in Florida (Where I met mostly Brit or Euro staff anyway) or New
York because I like cheap clothes!

Just out of curiosity, which parts did you visit that treated you poorly? I'm
not about to defend individuals who acted badly, but DisneyWorld and NYC are
NOT the friendliest places I can think of! LOL

Most of the people in the US are nice. You must have met the wrong ones. I
dont know why but they seem to congregate around visitors from other
countrys and make bad impressions for the rest of us.
Its a shame really. There is a lot more to like about the united states than
just our beads and customers who want your maille. Really. :-)

I try not to involve myself in US politics. But no, it's defiantly not

been
on the news in the last few weeks (I watch it most days). I personally

have
no desire to have anything to do with the US (except buying beads and

taking
to the NICE people I've met online from there), It's a country where I
wasn't treated very nicely when I visited. The only places I'd go back to
are Disney in Florida (Where I met mostly Brit or Euro staff anyway) or

New
York because I like cheap clothes!

Well, it's not DUH really is it. I mean, how would I know anything

about
the "war on drugs"

you mean it doesn't even make the news in Europe????
I thought even the Europeans knew about the resource wasteful US "War on

Drugs"
and our rabid Attorney General --

I've been to Disney and NY and some other places when I was quite young. I
think I liked NY and Disney because they're very international places
anyway, so I mostly bumped into those who were foreign anyway! I certainly
wouldn't go back to these places for at least another 2 years, not much
point if you can't go for a few bevvies in the evening and check out the
nightlife!

Sadly every country has a number of idiots. I could tell horror stories
about the bus drivers in Leeds and an immigration 'official' which should be
spelled officious, who wasn't going to permit me entry into the country on
one visit because 'no one in their right mind wants to go to Manchester'.

I've been treated well by people in many places and had some horrible
experiences but I don't lump a country into any category simply because of
some of the people who live there. It narrows the horizons too much
otherwise.

But then again, when you have bad experiences with people in a country it
sours it a bit. Now, I know the US is a big place, but I'm British, and
have a rather stiff upper lip. ;-P Anyway, there are so many more places
that I haven't been to yet I've got to go to first. Although, like I said,
I don't mind popping to NY for a weekend to go shopping. Bit like a huge
version of Bluewater really!

Thank you so much for trying.
Government gets so big that it seems that it isnt of the people and for the
people anymore but a huge alien parasite. It can feel to big to fight.
New batteries headed your way... my.. but thats a lovely looking beady
shiney wand. :-)
Walk softly and carry a beaded wand?

Have you ever seen the Monty Python sketches about British tourists? Some
people are bad hosts, some are bad visitors and some are just unlucky to not
have met the millions of really nice people in the US. I like to think
we're as nice as the next guy.

There's Wisconsin! We all know it's the heart and soul of the USA. Full of
hearty and happy people who play the accordian, eat bratwurst and drink
beer, go waterskiing in summer and snowmobiling when there's any snow. Yep,
that's it! Go to the Midwest next time and you'll see what the USA is
really like.

I suppose, but by that reasoning I'd never have married someone from the UK,
as I got rather nastily treated by one or two people. I just figured that
it was such a small percentage that the rest deserved the benefit of the
doubt. I still don't mind (much) when people insist that I must be Canadian
because I'm just too nice to be one of those Americans, I just figure they
need to get out more.

Your mileage may vary, of course.
