For reasons I shall not go into, I decided many years ago that I would
not make things for my FIL so as to avoid the type of comments he makes,
sometimes without even realising how hurtful he is being. He has
benefited from a couple of things I have made for my MIL, but they were
made for and given to her.

I do not regret my decision and I am sure it has protected me from
unwanted hurt over the years. If he really is so worthless, just give
up on making overtures that only end up causing you the pain.
