Default Picking out machine embroidery?

Has anyone done this? Any tips? DS's number is #1 this year, last year it
was #91, which is what is on his fleece pullover. (make that very expensive
fleece pullover that still fits!)

Should I consider picking them both out and using waste canvas so the number
is centered under his name?

I will wait and see if he can be #1 on both teams (travel and house) before
starting.

I actually have managed to snatch some stitching time over the last few
days; sadly I also needed to frog some too!

I dont have comments on all your questions, but as to the actual
frogging, I would suggest "very carefully". There are various devices
which make it difficult to cut anything but the actual thread. A seam
ripper is one, and, more expensive, "lift and cut" scissors. If you are
using actual scissors, dont cut until you can see both tips of the
scissors. I doubt if anything else but cutting will be satisfactory. HTH.

time that is spent in stitching.

Jim,

I invested in a pair of lift and cut scissors when the local Joanne's went
out - a useful tool for any kind of stitching. My biggest worry is about how
the fleece will look after I take the number off.

I should have his team info in a day or two.

It can be done but it is not easy. Work from the back. A mustache trimmer can
be used (on the back of the design, to cut the bobbin threads) but you need to
be very careful not to get impatient and make hole in the fabric. Guess how I
know that
