I am going to tackle 9-patches. I know they are supposed to be a simple
block, but mine never come out to the size I intend, and I've never made 2 the same. I bought a magazine with lots of different quilts made with 9-patches and I'm inspired. Thankfully, the magazine also came with tips and hints for well-behaved 9-patches. -- Wendy http://griffinsflight.com/Quilting/quilt1.htm De-STUFF email address to reply "Polly Esther" wrote in message k.net... Toile has been calling to me but this is going to be the year that I make a quilt with one. I've never made a quilt using circles or curves. Yes, I'm going to try those too. Well, in March I am going to Denmark (Copenhagen) for a week. Since my DH
will be away for 3 to 6 months, maybe I will get all done with the BOMs and put them together, somehow. I think it will be one ugly quilt with the colors I have used, but it will be finished. Actually I do intend to take off a wide border on a Hidden Wells that I pieced a bit ago and then see if I will be happier with he end result and I intend to complete several quilted clothing items. Me too!! Stippling that is. I keep telling myself I'm too left brained to do
it.....but I aim to try! Betty in WI "AliceW" wrote in message ... I hate to admit it, but I've not done anything with flannel yet. So I am going to try that in a simple quilt as well as making chenille. I also have wanted to try drunkards path in a full sized quilt. So that's on my list too. But I really want to shoo all these PIGS outta here! suuuuuuuuu-whee! At least one per month! My biggie - I'm going to machine quilt one of my quilts in something other than SITD. Perhaps - are you all sitting down - even try stippling! Yeah, the thought of those ER cases bothers me a little bit, but if DH is
going to ride, I'd rather ride my own than stare into the back of his helmet! If we do any long trips, though, it'll be on the Gold Wing. The Honda will be for "fun" riding around town. I'm doing a 9-patch in my head right now for Cat in the Hat. I'm thinking
black-white-black over white-red-white. There are possibly 7 other variations on that theme. Any thoughts? Polly "frood" wrote I am going to tackle 9-patches. In 2006, I will finish all the pieced blocks for a BOM from 2 years ago! I
don't know whatever possessed me to buy additional blocks each month that were applique. I have 7 pieced blocks completed, and 0 applique blocks done. I don't even have a date for doing all the applique - probably be in my next life! I will also make DH the poker quilt that I have been telling myself that I was going to do it. I have only had the card fabric for 5-6 years so I don't want to rush it, lol. Sherry Starr "Polly Esther" wrote in message k.net... I figure something's gonna get you sometime. Might as well have some fun
with tempered with well intentioned caution! Hummm, you know what I mean, don't you? I never did teach him to ride my bike when I had it. Maybe that would have helped. Probably not, he's the cautious type. I quit riding when I got pregnant. That baby is 26 now! (And he just called from Panama where he's visiting his Peace Corps girlfriend! I'm glad he's having a good time, but I'll be glad when he's home safe and sound....guess DH isn't the only cautious one in the family!)
