Default Brother PC-6000 vs Pfaff

Just getting started on this sewing machine buying adventure. We found
a Brother pc-6000 for 700.00 used today, but I am seeing them new on
the net for 699.00... my one question is that the pfaff salesperson
was very opinionated in her statement about the ability of the pfaff
to pretty much sew through anything, including 4 layers of denim - is
the brother pc-6000 a fairly good machine that will hold up to sewing
heavy materials like denim? and the walking feets top and bottom - is
the brother able to compare? the 1000.00 dollar difference means a
little bit to me, but I really want my daughter to have a good machine
that will last a long time.
