I was trying to test if I could cancel my message. obviously you saw it
before I did. but it did go away from my reader at some point.... BTW,
just made me realize I have to change my antispam line, it tells how to
reply to me for the previous generation of the modification, not the
current one! )

Cancelling messages really only works well for getting them off the Google
archive. Most ISP's don't accept message cancels anymore because of past
abuses. The reason it eventually disappeared off your reader was because
every ISP's news server has a set message expiration time. Once that passes,
the messages disappear.
