Default New to Group - I make sculptures of people (from 3 to 7 inches head to toe).

Hello.

I'm new to the group. I once worked as a scupltor for a miniatures
company in the 70's and 80's... lead soldiers and fantasy 25mm minis.

Just getting started in Polymer Clay.

I mostly sculpt figurines of people (working from photos).

anyway, i didn't introduce myself, im new, too. my name is iva, and i
work with polymer clays for 4 years now. i don't have good gallery yet,
but mostly do canework, and use fimo and sculpey (which is not good for
it)
last week i tried "chinese fimo", at least declaration said so, and it
melted in oven and i was following the instructions

Nice work, Steve. :-)

I'm curious: I used to collect and paint fantasy miniatures. Which
company did you work for?

stick figures with poofy lips who think only about themselves.

Arondella,

I started with Custom Cast (better know as Der Kreigspielers) in
Dayton Ohio. In 1977 that company merged with Heritage Models located
in Dallas, TX. I moved to Texas and worked for them in 1979.

I did mostly historical figs like those shown in this picture...
http://www.bissettdesignstudio.com/statue002.html

Some time later Heritage went belly up ...though no fault of mine

I think the various Heritage figure lines were bought up by different
companies around the USA. Some of the fokes from Heritage went on to
form and/or work for Reaper Miniatures which is still in business
today. I've been in recent contact with Reaper and may try doing some
28mm again but not in Poly-clay. Need something stronger to hold up in
the volcanized rubber mold making process.

-Steve
