Sorry, I sent that email before I finished...

Is there any truth to the stories that I am told about not running hand
blown glasses through the dish washer? I have been told everything
from the harsh soaps will scratch the surface to the bubbles in the
glass will expand and possibly break through to the surface of the
glass.

I would like to know what I should tell my customers.

Thanks,

January Smith

There are various things that can happen, from breakage due to excesses
of heat and being knocked around by the water jets, to a gradual
abrasion of the surface by the detergent, leaving it scratched and dull.
Anyone who has put fine crystal in the dishwasher over a number of years
will have experenced this. The bubbles expanding and breaking through
the surface is hogwash, but where the glass is thinner over the bubbles,
it is, like all thin glass, more susceptible to breakage during the
rigors of a dishwasher cycle.

The bottom line is, if you love something and want it to last, don't put
it in the dishwasher.

sorry to have to tell you this but there is a budding boycott of all things
from Mexico. everyone is getting tired of the hordes of Mexicans coming
into the usa.

so to get the message across we are getting ready to launch a boycott of all
items made in Mexico and of course no visiting Mexico.
