Simple Pleasures
I have been reading these posts and thinking how many simple pleasures there
are every day. Just a few from today - I saw the sun come up this morning, and it's still shining. But if it was raining it would still be a "good day" because we need the rain. The post came an hour ago and there were no bills in the letterbox. I am watching my three cats lie in the sun, fully stretched out with their eyes half closed, and I am enjoying watching as much as they are obviously enjoying basking. My favourite song was on the radio while I was eating my lunch. A friend rang me an hour ago - for no particular reason, just to say "Hi!" Sitting here I can smell the flowers in the big pots outside my front door. A smal furry head has just nudged me for a pat - so I have to go enjoy another simple pleasure. May we all experience - and appreciate - the simple pleasures everyday. -- Cheryl http://community.webshots.com/user/witchofthewest cawaitesATnetconnectDOTcomDOTau "Tina" wrote in message ups.com... Ok Pat - I'm stealing your material here. I really needed this the last couple of days, so I went back to my "Simple Pleasures" file and reread all the ones from before. They sure do help a lot Pat and I can't tell you how grateful I was for that thread! So how bout it anyone? Got any new Simple Pleasures to share? Holidays are coming, people get busy, lose focus..... time to remember the really important things in life! Time for Life's Simple Pleasures!! What has made you happy this week? (If nothing has, no need to report ... just read a few notes and you too might realize you do have some little pleasures in your life too!!) "copyright credit - Pat in Virginia" Hugs and TIA, Tina |

Simple Pleasures
Coming out of work tonight to a sunset that had pink clouds playing
over the full moon's ascent for the evening.....the unconditional love and happiness Gypsy Rose gives me at the end of each work day.... the time shared with my DMIL in the kitchen each evening as we both fix dinner for "the guys" (my DH-her DS and her DB my DH's uncle).... watching the clouds drape themselves over the hills like icing on a cake, running over the sides.....the hoot owl in the middle of the night..... the blast of color from the rose bushes who didn't look at the calendar and started blooming again this week.... the chance to share with all of you Ginger in CA |

Simple Pleasures
This morning, it was very cold - "see your breath" cold. In the middle
of a.m. rush hour traffic in downtown Seattle, I saw a young woman reach into her backpack and hand an elder, homeless man, in a wheelchair, an orange. It was lovely. I won a company-wide award at work today for "Best Sale" in October. And the best.... the very best, simple pleasure is my puppy, Murphy. He makes me happy, no matter what. I saw it, too, here in Idaho. But, it sure wasn't a warm late spring
evening. Yesterday and yesterday evening, the temperature never got much over 40 with strong winds, so it felt like 40 below instead of 40 above. But, I agree the moon was beautiful last night. Haven't looked out tonight to see what it's doing. However, the weather guy did show it on the news this evening. -- Donna in Idaho Website: www.LinusIdaho.org "nzlstar*" wrote in message ... i saw that very same full moon last night here on a warm late spring evening as i was shutting the drapes to go to bed. it really was very very pretty indeed. i'll try to remember in future that we all see that same full moon each month. hugz, jeanne -- san-fran at ihug dot co dot nz nzlstar on yahoo msg'r http://community.webshots.com/user/nzlstar http://community.webshots.com/user/VirtualQuilting "Chipper" wrote ... snipped As for a simple pleasure, I think that seeing the full moon rise over the colorful trees on this warm late autumn evening ... |

DH has taken the train to Sydney for a meeting in the city he figures he won't be back until about 10 or 11 pm tonight. DS is supposed to be having a nap but I'm still feeling a little lonely here, at least I'm getting some sewing done! -- Melinda http://cust.idl.com.au/athol |

Is anyone left dressing appropriately for their age any more?
Taria Not me.... only for church. I'm told it's A Man Thing by my son--- The Hunky Mr. Collins likes me in long hair, snug-ish jeans, short-ish skirts and snazzy undies. I try to oblige, but DAMN!, I'm 55 for crying out loud! I guess it's a compliment he likes me that way, but I try to keep it modest, if nothing else. Sheesh!!! I guess that's what I get for robbing the cradle... he's 3 years, 9 months and 22 days younger than I am! ;-))))) Leslie (as he says "styling"- I'm trying to..... kinda) & The Mortified Furbabies in MO. |

Simple Pleasures
A few from today, watching the snowflakes softly fall and turn everything to
soft focus, watching the sunset glow on the snow on the mountains, hearing the pride and surprise in my ADHHD son's voice when he told me he won the "Most Improved Student" of the quarter. Another pleasure was looking at the thermometer and realizing it was finally in the positive double digits again for the first time all week. Anita in snowy Alaska |

I wear shorts or jeans or other comfortable pants with T-shirt or similar most of the time. I only dress up to go out for dinner usually in skirt and top, maybe a dress, I tend to prefer clothes that don't need ironing, but I was born in 1972 so I can still get away with wearing a bit of 'fashion' now and then. -- Melinda http://cust.idl.com.au/athol |
