See the swirls in the bumps? Is that just a characteristic of the type of
glass, or are they put there? I love boro glass; it always has these
swirls, and even the clear(ish) pieces look like they have a hundred colors
trapped inside, depending on how you turn 'em. I am just curious as to
whether that's just the technique, or if it's the glass itself.

And, btw, this set is like *heaven* for me--swirly boro, and BUBBLES! I
love it )

I can't say for sure unless I know what color was used, but I'd bet there's
a dot of one of the "streaky" colors under the clear and that either that
color dot was placed and pulled away with a twist, or the clear was applied
with a twist. Either way, you could get that swirling with the right color.

But then again, it could just be serendipity!

"Champagne-like bubbles" is right! I was just going to say "Those are sooooo
champagney!" when I read the auction text (which says that too). Love those --
perfect for New Year's Eve, or the Oscars......

I agree. They look deliberate.

looks to me like he "twisted" as he applied them --

a fairly basic technique.....
