Stained glass panels and UPVC windows
Hi All
I've made some simple stained glass panels (using copper foil) to fit 'inside' the individual panes of a wood-framed window - and fixed them using small copper loops and tiny screws, direct into the wood. I have an enquiry from a customer who wants some panels made to fit the small top opening panes in her UPVC (=plastic) conservatory. I know that one way is to get the stained glass panels 'encapsulated' in the double-glazed units - but I suspect that may be too expensive for this customer. I don't really want to be drilling holes in her plastic window-frames. Does anybody make some kind of proprietary 'clip' or fixing that can be used to solve this problem. It'd need to be a fairly secure solution, because these window are top-hinged, and will be opened for ventilation - so the weight of the stained glass will be trying to pull the panels out of their fixing.. Any advice / experience from somebody who has 'been there & done that' ? Many thanks in advance Adrian Suffolk UK ======return email munged================= take out the papers and the trash to reply |
