My current dilemma has given me an idea for a Swap!

Let me run this by you and see if anyone else would be interested....

I would call it something on the order of - This Land is Your Land,
This Land is My Land

Around here, the LQS carries fabric with Texas maps, Texas themes
(boots, chili peppers, barbeque, blue bonnets, etc.)

What if I did a swap and asked that your swap be a fabric theme from
your local state? Either with your state map, picture, etc. or theme
of your state, i.e. state birds, state flowers, state landmarks or
foods, i.e. Boston/lobsters, Texas/chili, etc.

What do you think? Does this sound interesting to anyone else? It
would sure help me out with this project.

Hi Tina,
Don't know if I missed a previous post or not, but exactly what is your
project? I would be happy to send you a squishie from "The Evergreen
State" if there is something specific that you're looking for or
needing? Please let me know......

That would be awesome Patti, but I was trying not to "beg" - I was
hoping to get some swapping going LOL. Would you like something Texas
themed?

This is for the project for my best friend - who is an orange-a-holic
(the reason I have been begging for orange scraps) and she is
originally from Maine and went to school in Boston, MASS. Hence the
reason I am looking for New England related stuff and lots and lots and
lots of oranges. LOL

Hugs,
Tina

I am also looking for, and have found a couple of patterns for: (or
themed fabric for):
lobster
lighthouse
leaves - fall
state outlines of New England states, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode
Island, Connecticut, etc.
anything relative of New England states?

glad it worked! are you only looking for applique? I have a pretty
red/white fabric with a new england coastal village type print on it,
but it wouldn't work for applique. I have a lot of leaves too - do you
still need those? if so, what size pieces? and I have Boston Red Sox
fabric. Hmm, I have cute crabs fabric (white with red crabs) ... not
exactly lobsters, but still coastal. let me know if any of those would
work and I'll send a squishie.

This does sound like an interesting swap. How about things realted to local
colleges/universities? Or shold that be a separate swap itself?

Debi (works for a large state university, can ALWAYS find Gator fabric)

Ever stop to think, and forget to start again?

That would be awesome Lynn - and no I'm not just looking for applique.
In fact, the thought occurred to me after the fact to use themed
fabrics, cut in the shape of fall leaves, instead of doing appliques of
lobsters, lighthouses, tennis shoes etc.

So I would love ANY coastal/New England themed fabrics anyone wanted to
share. But do you want to swap them? Can I send you something in
return?

YES Debi! Colleges too! My gosh, here in Texas, if A&M Aggies and
Texs Longhorns weren't considered landmark themes of the state - I
would be kicked out! LOL
