One more thing about Google -- I don't have the ability to snip as far
as I know -- I get a reply box that is empty except for what I am
putting in -- hence my rather clumsy attempts to quote some folks
myself to BE SURE that something shows up where I want it. I'd snip if
I could -- top or bottom posting, I would certainly snip if I could
because I prefer when people snip other stuff

I prefer the top posting. A lot of times, I won't read the reply if it
isn't at the top. I don't like going all the way through something that I
have already read, just to read a reply like WTG, me too, ditto, etc.

I know that some people always include the original post with their
response... and some never do. And either is okay by me (but then again --
I don't pay by the kb)

However....

If you include the original message -- could you please see that your
response is at the TOP of your reply ... and not way down after all the
repeated text.... This really makes reading messages cumbersome...
bouncing back and forth to scroll down to read what YOU have to say -- and
almost always we have already read the post your are replying to. If we
forgot or need to clarify -- we can always scroll down...

But please .... put your reply first!

I'm probably not alone in this request -- but this is just my 2 cents...
and my request. (or is there some reason why you do this? if so I'd
welcome an explanation so I could better understand. )

Thanks...

This is the only group I take part in that does have bottom posters. My NG
reader is set up for top posting as a default. Like Kate G, I prefer top
posting.

I *much prefer top replying as well, but am amazed that in many other
newsgroups it's considered poor form. I don't get it--why anyone would
want to read through the same material a zillion times in a thread.

If standard means majority, this group's standard is top-posting. It's only
a few that I see coming in at the bottom.

Some folks post at the very bottom
And some dont quote at all.
So, the most important thing to remember is:
Post. Have fun, be respectful and responsible and enjoy one anothers
company, even Nekkid Tricia's

Ah, if only a Formal Request was enough to work... for whatever .... This
group is at least the most tolerant of other styles of posting (most of the
time). Snippage is good. Clarity is better. Squishies are best.

This message makes me want to stop posting anything in this group now that
it has been pointed out that I do it all wrong. I hate these kind of
threads. Here I was back to enjoying the NG.... now I am just plain confused
and leery of posting anymore.

~KK in BC~ who did this one wrong entirely ON PURPOSE.

I don't think you can argue somebody into doing it right, they'll either
get the experience that changes their minds or they won't. And people
can still have something to say even when they haven't figured out the
most understandable and least wasteful way to say it, so there isn't
often much point in commenting on it.

KK, I don't think it's a matter of wrong or right, just preferences.
That's all.

I don't know where mine show up either, for Usenet users - since I use
Google.

But I understand and appreciate the "etiquette" thingy of Usenet.

Hugs,
Tina
