Things have been crazy here but yesterday I got a chance to spend the day
with my
'blanket lady' friends. I was able to bring along an old quilting friend
with me. She
is almost 83 and a real treasure. Her husband in hospice and she is
clearing out
a lot in her home in preparation to a move. It was fun to see her enjoy
getting out
and chatting up a storm. When I took her home she had 3 large boxes of
fabric for me!
We sat down and went through some of it and had a fun time sharing about
where
some of the stuff came from. Her sewing room is a treasure. Full of old
odds and
ends and some of her special work. Today I will go through the fabric and
work it
into my collection or set it aside for the group charity quilts. I think
some of this
old fabric just moves around a lot!

Taria, hoping to sew today too

How nice of your friend to offer the cloth to you. Hope you can find
something you can use!

Thanks! There is a lot of 70's cottons screaming to be made into a vintage
looking quilt. Also, there
were two large pieces in fabric I can use for Raggedy Ann dresses. Fabrics
prints I have used but
can't find anymore. Woohoo!

Years ago I gave away a box of yarn by leaving it in the teacher's
lounge at my son's school. Several of the teachers were knitters and
loved the yarn. Eight years later the same box appeared on my porch as
a donation to my charity work. The person who gave the box to me had
nothing to do with the school. The box had past through several hands
during that eight years. This was not yarn scraps but several bundles
each with enough yarn to make a sweater. My handwriting was on the box
so I know it was the same stuff. I always wondered where it had
traveled during those eight years. I put it on the next container of
humanitarian aid sent to Ukraine. Hopefully they found a use for the
yarn.

ROFL! Wait 8 years, and it might reappear on your doorstep!
