Howdy!
SHE said it, not I!!!
I'm in the clear. I knew the date, but *I* wasn't going to say
it this time. Taria did it, Taria did it!!
Yeah, just 3 months away. How are those Christmas quilts
in the making? You got one, Taria?
Mine was finished years ago. g

I used to spend every waking minute rushing to get Christmas gifts made.
Then DH gently reminded me that I wasn't spending any time with the family,
and we were missing out on doing fun stuff. I realized that was more
important, and really scaled back on making gifts. I still make some, but
only what I really really want to, not out of obligation. We have a much
more relaxed and fun season, going out to see the lights, making cookies,
cranking up the holiday tunes and romping round the house, decorating! Maybe
this year we'll make some cards - Spike and Giles are old enough to help
with that.

That said, I am planning to do some of those easy coasters this year! G

Its not time to panic! Keep your heads and K.I.S.S....that is.. keep it
simple, silly!
This is not the time to plan to make everyone of those 15 adored
grandchildren a hand quilted quilt. Not everyone on your list of beloved
relatives expect you to wear yourself down to nothing for a quilty gift.
How about this? You have an Uncle you adore who appreciates good wine.

Why
not make him a wine tote and a simple wine bottle charm, presented to him
with a decent bottle of wine inside? Your MIL isnt big into quilts but

loves
table runners that are seasonal. How bout create a simple one for an
occasion she might not have thought of...say...talk like a pirate day.
Ok, you promised the younger members of your family quilts. No getting

out
of it. Make the tops and promise the quilting will be done by their next
birthday.
But.. the most important part is.. dont panic! No one will love you less

if
your gift is late, or just in the planning stage.
Ok, now get to work!
Diana, times awastin for me too! lol

I have a real nice large wall quilt and a mess of small Christmas
wall hangings. I'm like Wendy myself. I cut way back on the
presents years ago. I think of Sandy on the 25th of most
months though. VBG

Just a question for the masses:

Does anybody else here "re-gift" items that they got but have no use or
desire for?? DH was given a jacket that he would never wear, but that
his father would, so that is our Christmas gift to him. Our niece is
old enough for porcelain dolls, so she is getting the very first one
that I was given (not to worry, there are plenty for Rebekah to have
when she is old enough)........

I don't think I relaly have any Christmas presents to *make* except for
pajama bottoms for DH that match the pajamas that i just made for DS,
but that will only take about an hour or so to do.

I haven't even started the Gryffindor and Slytherin wallhangings. But I
did sneak out and buy the fabric.

Fortunately, those are my only obligations.
