Hello All!
My friend needs a pattern for Sunbonnet Sue and Sam dressed in Football gear. You know, Sue as a cheerleader and Sam with a helmet. TIA. Connie |

I'd just put Sue in the standard dress with a shorter skirt and add a pompom in her hand, and matching bloomers. Not sure how I'd draw Sam. -georg |

Sam ought to be the cheerleader and Sue in the football outfit, IMO.

I played women's football in high school, but of course the money and insurance wouldn't let us use the mens' padding. So I guess we were playing something more like rugby (and those girls could be vicious, let me tell you). Anyway, at the final match, the boyfriends of the young women on my football team showed up dressed as cheerleaders - skirts, pompoms and purple glitter in their hair. They sure were good sports, and you know, their legs looked really good in those skirts! They had learned all the cheers (quite a few on the women's football team were cheerleaders and so had taught them) and could lift each other up much more easily for the formations. They were really good sports. I really loved my high school.... you really could dream anything was possible there. -- Jo in Scotland |

I think all you really need to do is pop on a football helmet or the pom-poms to a normal Sue/Sam pattern. Go ahead and draw it up yourself, it's easier than you think. lal |
