Default Pink 4-Patch Posie Quilt

Kay,
i'm guessing it is done like bethany reynolds kaleidoscope but only using 4
triangles, that would have to be QSTs i'd think.
layer fabrics, then cut strips, then cut QSTs one at a time from the strips,
alternating sides of the strip so one after another, if that makes any
sense. hmmmmmm.
i'm google'n as i type for something but hope someone here has a link for
us.
cheers,
jeanne

Oh, so those blocks braced by the white fabric are made from the same
fabric as the borders? I was impressed when I first saw the quilt -- now
I'm REALLY impressed. I think I like the technique. Is there a book, by
chance? I'm still gazing and oohing and aahing.

That's really pretty Joan.

I really must try some of those mirror-type 4-patches - so effective.
Even if the sashing was a trial, it all looks beautiful. You're certainly
working at speed g I have no idea how you can do it - finishing one so
quickly after another! And they're all so lovely.

Best Regards

It's a pattern by Mary Lou Hallenbeck (www.hddesigns.net). Similar to
Bethany Reynolds, but since it requires only 4 layers of fabric, it's
easier to cut and uses less fabric. The border, inside squares (on
point) and the framing triangles are all the same fabric. This fabric
is the Willowberry springish line by Maywood Studios. I've now done
the darker version and a table runner. Enough already!

Thank you. It's a store sample. I personally never want to see it
again! Just not a pastel person.

I have never been so glad to finish something! Those little sashing
strips were a major PITA!

Joan, I'm *definitely* a pastel person (among other things), so if this
gorgeous creation needs a home.... G

thanks for that info, Joan.
now i'm off to do some searching thru Mary Lou's site and wherever else on
the net that might give me more ideas.
i'm sure i've got some fabrics that would work for this. stuff bought cuz i
liked either the colours or designs but with
no thot as to what i'd do with it, just had to have it. this could work for
those fabs-in-waiting, lol.
ta again,

Went to a quilt show in Quincy, California last weekend. There were lots of
these 4-patch kaleidoscopes there. Somebody must have taught a class. The
coolest one was made from fish fabric. You couldn't tell the kaleidoscopes
were fish until you looked at the border. Really neat!

Guess I'll have to buy one of those 4-Patch Stacked Posie patterns. I don't
know about the "supreme" version -- it has those little sashing pieces.

I had a look through your album and I have to say there are quite a
few gorgeous quilts in there!
The California Dreamin is quite spectacular! Wonderful use of colours
and pattern!

I bought the pattern at www.cottonvault.com Her shipping costs are just
that - her costs, plus I think about $0.50 or less for handling. She had
some great sale fabrics & I received my order within a couple of days. I
was pleased all the way around. Oh yeah - she also threw in 2 fat quarters
& 2 pens & gift wrapped my purchase. It was like having a birthday party in
my mail box!

I just picked up my fabric for my 4-Patch a week or so ago. It's a large
sunflower print. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
