Default OT - All in my head - feh!

Surprise, surprise, my pain is not "all in my head," but in my spine.
I have 6 fractured and crumbling vertebrae, and every disc in my
thoracic region is either bulging or ruptured. There are arthritic
spurs squishing the nerves in the whole region, explaining my loss of
movement.

Lord have mercy, Kathy! That sounds awful! No wonder you feel so badly.
Thank G-d you are on the right track now with good doctors. All my love and
prayers going out to you.

mri's are wonderful for imaging things- am glad you finally got the proof
that the pain had some reality behind it-, perhps the old pcp should be sent
a copy of the mri results....

My new PCP is great. She's already called all my specialists. (I
know this because I saw everyone this week and they told me) She also
called me when she got the results from my most recent MRI. I had it
last week, and it was excruciatingly painful to lie on the hard table
and be jostled for an hour.

Surprise, surprise, my pain is not "all in my head," but in my spine.
I have 6 fractured and crumbling vertebrae, and every disc in my
thoracic region is either bulging or ruptured. There are arthritic
spurs squishing the nerves in the whole region, explaining my loss of
movement. I still have plenty of other things going on, but this is a
real, provable, black and white diagnosis that will get the insurance
people to back off. I have to go back to the neurosurgeon, and
there's probably more disc fusion surgery in my future.

I saw the pain clinic psychologist today for the second time, and he
told me not to bother making another appointment unless I want one.
He said that I am coping with my pain exceptionally well, and that he
sees no need for me to seek further treatment. I asked if I could
see him in six months, just to make sure that things were still okay.
(partially because I don't want to see that whacko guy that the
insurance company sent me to last year) The psychologist was fine
with that, and sent me on my merry way.

Yesterday, the Massachusetts board of medical licensing revoked the
license of a doctor who kept sending patients to psychologists
instead of properly diagnosing their problems. It wasn't my former
PCP, but I hope he read about it and is shaking in his shoes. If
not, he should be.

heh, heh, heh.

Yanno, Kathy, there is such a thing as being an "agent of karma." One
succint phone call to the medical board should allow you to be such a
"divine" instrument of fate. I say go for it! EG

If not done for your own satisfaction, that call could save someone else a LOT
of pain.

gads woman - you have SUCH RESTRAINT...
LOL

I am so happy that you finally - FINALLY have a team of doctors who are working
WITH YOU and not against you.

Spinal fusion (again) does not sound lovely -but, at least they all know it's
NOT
ALL IN YOUR HEAD

really - I don't know how you have restrained yourself from calling up the old
PCP and using very unladylike language...
lots of words running through MY HEAD that I would have said to him

follwed by the final word - LAWSUIT

please do send him a copyKathy, and also report him. Think of it as saving
hundreds of people from treatment like yours. No need for
revenge....neccessarily....just get the guy's other poor patients out of harms
way.
