Default OT How depressing

Horrified, I am watching an infomercial for Time-Life's music collection for
a 7-CD collection called "Legends." The hawkmeister for this set is none
other than (sigh) Roger Daltrey, who seems to have had plastic surgery that
went amiss.

I am so depressed now.

I saw him on an episode of That 70's Show, and it depressed me, too.
Damn. I TOTALLY had the hots for him back in my teens.

What I find depressing is the plethora of Who songs that are used in
advertisements.

No, no, sweetie. He made a bad decision (about the plastic surgeon -- didn't
pick the right one), that's all. The pressure to get your face fixed in that
world is monumental.

And look at it this way -- they got lucky (the commercial-makers)! They got an
actual LEGEND to hawk their goods! He got a LOT of money to do it (there's
more money in commercials than there is in making movies, for instance). He
probably needed the dough so he could go back to his first love -- fly fishing
on his estate. It doesn't tarnish your life experience or your memories to
have him do these things.
