Default crocheted dog hat?

Hi all,
ok a friend of a friend asked me to crochet a hat for her black lab. she
gave me the yarn ,bright red , and sort of a drawing of her dogs head
with some measurments. my dog is not as big as a Lab. so can't use her
as a model.
what I have so far is a hat about 6" wide and about 6" "deep" with ear
holes about 4" apart near the top, and "ear flaps" on each side, and ties
under the "chin" thats what she wanted. I don't think its to big that it
will cover the dogs eyes, but not sure it is wide enough to cover the
head . So can any of you who have a four legged child around could give
me a hat size for that size dog???
why do I do this to myself??
Thanks,
Jenny

ROTFL Sorry, Jenny... this just conjured up some really cute images in my
mind. ;o)

My four-legged children aren't the right size for measurements for black
labs. My white lab/shepherd mix is too large, and my border collie mix is
too small. Hopefully someone else can help you.

I *do* hope your friend will give you a picture of her lab wearing his/her
hat so you can show us! I really need to see if it looks as cute as the
image I got while reading your description. hehehe
