Default For fun- you know a quilter lives here when....

DDH loves to tease me about my quilting passion. It led to this
comment earlier today when I made some trail mix for gifts. First I
had to go to my sewing room for parchment paper and back to my sewing
room again for zip-lock bags.

You know a quilter lives here when....

The kitchen does NOT contain the following: freezer paper, parchment
paper, plastic food storage containers, Press & Seal and zip lock bags.
It's all in the quilting area.

Next?

when you clean out the garage folks stop and ask if the sewing
machines are for sale.

dogs? Around here, it's

you know a quilter lives here when....

everywhere she goes, people are picking threads off HER!

Your hubby points at your chest and kind of murmurs nervously, "Uh,
honey, um, you might wanna check that..... " You look down and realize
the quilt pin you were using while stitching on the couch is still
threaded through the front of your shirt where you put it so it
wouldn't get buried in the couch again..... yes, another "you know a
quilter lives here....

when your son sits down on the couch and yowls,
"MOOOOOooooooooooommmm!!!!!!!"

oops, that's where that pin went.

When you walk out in your front yard, look up in the trees, and realize
the squirrels nest looks vaguely similar to the table runner you just
finished.....

oh, and when you cross the street to go to the neighbors...... there
are fabric scraps in the middle of the road..... that look vaguely
similar to the quilt you just finished... and your son says, "Mom,
isn't that some of YOUR fabric? How did it get in the street?" - uh,
well, a bird must have taken it from the scrap basket in the back yard
and dropped it as she was passing over.....

when your son goes to school, with his pants legs pinned up with
basting pins....cuz mom STILL hasn't hemmed them, or,

you go to a ladies luncheon, with your dress slacks pinned up with
basting pins....cuz YOU still haven't hemmed them - well, you know, the
cobblers children don't have shoes either.....

yep, a quilter lives here...

Hugs
Tina

Sasha says, "When there is always time for Jo to make quilts for
people, but never enough time to make me a fleece blanket." (Big blue
eyes, slightly hurt look).
She's sleeping in front of the electric fire now, and all four paws
are twitching slightly. Her eyes are open but she's snoring like a
chainsaw. I wonder what she's dreaming about?

DH sews on his own buttons.

I can appreciate that fact. Okay, from the distaff side:

"Daddy fix" includes not just superglue work but sewing. This is
because if the quilter didn't cut it up, it ain't getting sewn on her
machine.
Not only are there quilted toaster covers and quilted tissue box covers
in the house, but there are quilted covers for the telephone, TV and
the cat.
The quilter has a confused look on her face as she is taken away in
handcuffs after stabbing her DH with the seam ripper. "But he used my
GOOD scissors!"
The new home being built must have a 1500 square foot basement to fit
the long arm machine.
Cross country move locations are based, in part, upon the quality of
the local quilt show circuit.
When the professional scissors sharpener says the pair is past
sharpening, a wake is held.
