Heck, I'd go for the viking, but make sure he is named Sven, and not Ole.
Make you giggle in the heat of the moment.

Happy Anniversary, Rhoda! I thought about that problem in the beginning, and
got married on Valentine's Day, so I could let Hallmark do the reminding for
me.

No, no, no, Rhoda. The shoes will not do at all. Buy yourself something
decadent. You probably aren't interested in a 1971 MGB or the latest and
greatest Viking - but how about something really all of the time yummy?
I'm thinking a wonderfully comfortable chair (with all of the expensive
words on the tag like ergonomic and pneumatic) for my sewing machine -
computer would be just the thing for my (surprise) birthday. It's coming
soon and DH never has a clue until I show him the bill or the gift. You'd
think I moved the date every year and kept it a secret. Doesn't matter.
It absolutely does not. Every day is a special gift. Polly

I finally gave in the told hubby of 63 years that this was our
Anniversary. He was angered because I hadn't told him. What are the
rules? We aren't by law required to warn husbands, are we? Actually
I had a busy day on Monday at Rehab and I have another hard day there
tomorrow...and being taken out to dinner just doesn't do IT for me.
Instead I will charge that pair of Orthopedic Chocolate Brown Shoes
I've been wanting and label it "for our 63rd." And he has leaves to
rake up and bag....tonight it may SNOW.
I have neatened my Quilt Room one more time and am ready to lay out
the squares to see how many I still need. I Love cutting, so by
Saturday I should have made progress. Hurrah! That North Dakota Quilt
Show surely inspired me.

Goodness Me! 63 Years???!! That's exceptional! Many, many blessings to
you and your DH, and congratulations. That's a mighty fine
accomplishment.
(Um.... you WERE 6 when you got married, right??)

Goes to show those tough midwesterners just grit their teeth and keep going!
I hear the snow advisory has been moved back a little and we're just on the
edge up here near the Canadian border. What a way to celebrate your October
anniversary -- with 3-4 inches of wet snow! Have a terrific one!

For 63 years you both deserve a medal! When my daughter was hurt
because her husband forgot their anniversary I told her to write it on
the calendar in red, tell him before they went to bed every night for a
week, put a note in his pocket on the appropriate date, then go out and
buy herself what she wanted. Me? I never remember our anniversary and
we never celebrate it. Someone asked me why and I said I didn't know,
except it feels as though we're just doing what we're supposed to do and
we don't celebrate that. It isn't something we ever talked about or
decided upon, we just don't celebrate it. Of course, if I remembered it
. . .

Congratulations Rhoda and DH.
What a marvellous 'achievement'.
You had better start planning now what you will do in 2007, because you
do NOT want him to miss that one! (And he would be furious if you
did).
