Kingspin
I became the proud owner of some pottery tools called Kingspin. The
devices are about 6 inches tall and have a round plate on top and bottom. they are hooked together by a pedestal that separates in the middle. ????????????? what are they for. |

Sounds as though you have some turntables (that's what we call them in Oz
anyway). They are generally used for decorating pottery pieces - the pot is placed on the top, and rotated while the decoration is applied. They can have other uses. They're also called banding wheels. I use the potter's wheel for such decorations, but these do have the advantage of lifting up a pot so you can see (and paint bands or handbrush decoration) the sides of the pot you're working on.
