Primative Animal Carving Pattern
I have seen these fairly primative carvings of animals, a lot of cows
and sheep, but alos a full noahs arc. I have never seen any paterns for them. There is not a lot of detail in the carvings, but detail is supplied thru the paint. Any ideas where i can find something like this? |

I am being told (by the SWMBO) that another name for this style is
Folk Art. On Oct 6, 9:22 pm, Neillarson wrote: I have seen these fairly primative carvings of animals, a lot of cows and sheep, but alos a full noahs arc. I have never seen any paterns for them. I've seen many middle-eastern carvings done in a similar sytle - elephants mostly, but I've rarely seen patterns. Every once in a while, you'll see something like this in carving magazines, patterns for neckerchief slides, etc, but I can't think of a particular source. I suggest that you do a search on google images. That's where I get study photos for some of my work. If you find something you like, you could save, print and trace the outline onto your blank. Another possible source might be the E-bay photos. Search on Wood Carving - Woodcarving - Carving. Good luck, Bill |

Look for older carving books by Tangerman, try your local library...there must be a dozen boks by him, most will have patterns for what you want. If you can't find any let me know and I'll see what I have.(G) ICU |
