A new machine!!!....actually, two new machines!
I attended the PA Quilt Extravaganza last Thursday and spent my time trying
out machines. I'd been thinking and talking about a new machine for a couple years. About an hour before closing, I made up my mind and bought a Babylock 6600 Quest! It has every feature imaginable (except embroidery-which I wasn't interested in). The only problem --they're back-ordered and I don't actually get it until December. Meanwhile, they gave me a Babylock Xscape to use during the interim and to KEEP! It, too, has tons of features and only weighs 12 lbs. It'll be great for Guild meetings and travel, etc! I'm off to play! PS. I read the other post about the Janome 6600 with no free arm. That is true and one of the reasons why I decided on the Babylock. Also, all the quilting feet were included and work with the even-feed feature. -- Alice in PA http://community.webshots.com/user/twosonsatpsu |

I just happened to see Nancy - maybe the show is called 'Sewing with Nancy'
of Nancy's Notions on Saturday. Wondered what in the world she was demonstrating and it was a Babylock. That's the brand of embroidery machine I'd buy if I ever decide to play that game. Anyhow, I noticed that her SM was talking quite a bit - a peep here and boing there when she changed stitches and such. The Elna serger has quite a bit to say too but I don't even notice anymore. Sounds like you got a super great deal. The Babylock they gave you will be a real a treat. Only 12 pounds? I can't imagine. Good for you. Enjoy your new treasures. I just got it set up, threaded, and tried out a few stitches. Seems to be
very quiet and smooth! I'm not ready to try it without the foot pedal yet...it has all hand controlled buttons...but I did try out the needle threader which I've never had before. Now I'll go finish reading the owners manual!!! -- Alice in PA http://community.webshots.com/user/twosonsatpsu "Polly Esther" wrote in message ... What dealer sold you your machine, just out of curiosity? I had to avert my eyes because I already got my dream machine. The quilts were gorgeous. I got pictures of the quilt made by that English lady whose husband asked for pictures. It was stunning. I sent the pictures to him by e-mail and got a notice that the e-mail was received, but I haven't heard anything from him. I hope he liked the pictures. DH and I walked our feet off. It was the first really big show I'd ever been to and it was an experience. Iris |

Two machines for the price of one -- a 12-pounder is fantastic for travel. -- Sandy in Henderson, near Las Vegas sw.foster1 (at) gmail (dot) com (remove/change the obvious) http://www.sandymike.net |
