computer for long at a time but . . . . . .

I will try to catch up with everyone I "owe" responses.

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone.

BTW - it's 11am and over 100F outside!! Sunny cloudless sky and parching
north wind. Bushfire weather. I heard the sirens earlier this morning.

Happy New Year to you as well, Cheryl. In NJ it's only 1921 on 12/29. It's
rainy, windy and cold. We have terrible fires in Texas and neighboring
states at well. I hope everyone in those areas and all those with family
members, friends and loved ones there are safe and sound.

ps - and you "owe" all of us responses! hehehehe

Ohhhhhh what I'd give for just a little of that 100° weather right
now! I'd run right over to the beach and dip my toes in!

Glad you're feeling better Cheryl......

Just heard the forecast for NYE - 42C in Melbourne so higher out here!
That's about 110F!

It is no longer a matter of if we have fires - but how many there will be!!!
There were 43 around the state in NSW last week, and houses were lost in
Canberra yesterday.

My thoughts will be with the volunteers who will be out there risking their
lives to fight the fires and protect lives and property.

Good to see you back Cheryl

Come and visit me Cheryl lovely sea breezes. Our hotest has only been
about 34. The cool change always hits us long before it is due. So far
we have only had on bush fire ( blue gum plantation and State Forest)

It looks like some idiot may have started a grass fire up the valley
in this area (near Bayswater power station). It's hot here, but not
as hot there and tomorrow is going to be hot every where! We have a
southerly change forecast for late new years day.

Friends just said a cool change had hit the CBD but we certainly haven't
felt it out here. We cut short DD1s go-karting practice this morning as I
could tell by her times she was getting tired and hot. I have a feeling
tomorrow we will miss it totally - 43C I believe. shudder Instead we
are going to spend some of my Christmas money on a new kettle and toaster.
Saw the prices in one store yesterday and nearly keeled over $180 for the
two - just because I want a cordless kettle, 4-slice toaster and stainless
(the shiny grey stuff) rather than white. Jeeze That just kills me it
does.

Yep! At one stage I had over 2000.

A friend was checking for an urgent email I was expecting and she is not a
web user - don't think she even knows what a ng is. She rang me on her
mobile in a panic because she thought I had a virus on the computer and that
I was being "hit" by hundreds of emails ROFL When I explained the
difference she actually offered to read them all to me - over the phone!! -
until I directed her to the counter that showed 2100+ messages.

When I got back I just had to hit delete on most of them as I still can't
sit here at the computer for long. Getting behind on rctq is a bit like
that quote about the population of China marching past and never ending. If
you try to read everything that is backed up, the new messages seem to come
in faster than you can read LOL

It's nice to be back home though!!
