Default Whats Everyone Working On?

Well? ;-)
What sort of things does everyone have going at the moment in the quilt
family? Dragging out PIGS or finishing up UFOs and WIPS or have new quilts
started appearing?
I'm still working on the queen size LC borders, getting ready to MQ the
siggy quilt, plotting the next borders on DDs quilt, and playing with
layouts for Mike's 'Things go better with Coke" quilt. Sometime in the
middle of those I need to design and make two quilted Christmas stockings.
Lets hear your list!

This week is totally devoted to getting ready for retreat! (or at
least as total as my devotion can be, given the contents of my
calendar and other obligations)
I am finishing up the challenge quilt which is to be judged there.
Later on I will ponder why I chose a block with thousands of set-in
seams when I have little experience with them.
Also, I am making seven blocks for two projects to be completed there
by the group. One block is mostly done.
Lastly, I am hoping to organize a project to work on while there.
This requires a trip to buy spray basting stuff and a sunny day to use
it on my driveway.

Just this weekend I finished 4 I Spy quilt tops. I have the backing,
just need to get some batting.

I still have that quilt for My Mom that I've been working on all year. I
am giving up on trying to make the House for the middle, I can't get it
to look the way I want it to and am being too picky I guess. I'm just
going to sew the Mapleleaf blocks together with some scrappy 9 patches I
think using the same materials.

Also found a few small kids panels that I had bought, I need to get
those quilted before the bazaar too.

Hubby and I made our first batch of salsa yesterday. 12 pints. Lots more
to do...

I am trying to finish mq'ing a mariners compass quilt for dd.
The anniversary quilt for 20th anniversary is almost all hand
quilted. (Just had our 24'th anniversary so no rush anymore).
When we did the hoffman tour they gave my guild a mess of
fabric and charity quilts tops are ready to be sandwiched and
finished. That's the stuff most on the front burner around
here.
If I start a whole list I might disappoint myself.

Well, I'm still working on repairing my GreatGrandmom's
quilt, a flannel raggy quilt, a block of the month quilt, a
hidden star quilt and of course, my nursing home lap quilts.
I recently finished 3 lap quilt and a hand quilted crib quilt.

Well, my dh has been out of town since Tuesday last so here is my rundown:

Tuesday - finished a mystery quilt top by adding the borders, finished
piecing a top called Simple Traditions that was a Linda Ballard class (I
still have the final border to add)

Wednesday - finished another quilt from a Linda Ballard class
(www.letsquilt.com) called Nosegay for Doreen (I still have the final border
to add)

Thursday - set up my house for a quilting open house with my
quilting/stitching friends for Friday

Friday - Open House for quilting. Worked on marking pieces of a lily block
with 1/4 " marks, helped my dd with her Pointless Wonder quilt (she is a new
quilter!) and helped with the other ladies and their UFO's/WIP's and problem
tops.

Saturday/Sunday - made 36 -5" lily blocks (with set in Y seams) for my
Northern Lily Southern Rose quilt. Now I need to put 3 each into a 12" block
with a stem unit for the corner blocks of the quilt.

And that leaves today. I will probably work on making covers for my dh's
bench tools. I did promise, after all! He comes back home Thursday night so
I still have a few more "power quilting" days left!

Anyhoo, that's what I have been up to this week! I will need to layer and
quilt some tops pretty soon or my stack will never decrease! I promise
pictures as soon as I can snag a digital camera from someone!

Most of the last bit of the round robin is done. Need to sew 20 more seams.

I've started the serious work on the 1390 quilt. It's a pain because I
hate loop starts. But it is neat working with linen floss etc. I have
vowed to do something similar using *decidedly modern* techniques when
I'm done, just for the joy of the look without the effort.

DJ has been set aside until that's done.

Boy, sounds like all of you gals are really working hard at quilting.
Not exactly quilting, but in the middle of making fabric bowls for DH's
and my children for Christmas. Definitely want to get them done early.
Then want to make a bunch of the fabric bowls for a small bazaar in
December also. Then it is back to the remaining quilts for the grand
children - 5 to go. The three boys' quilts are already put into sections
waiting to be assembled for quilting. The 2 girls' quilts are still in big
16" blocks waiting to be put together in sections and I'm trying to figure
out how I want to assemble them into sections for the design layout.
Then I have a non-descript star type quilt that is laying in sections also
waiting to be assembled and quilted. After those, I have started blocks
in stack and slash of Oriental fabrics - one set of the blocks are stars
and the other set is churn dash style. The backing will be in NASCAR
fabrics - the quilt to be titled Oriental Stars/NASCAR Stars. (I'm sorry
but I'm a NASCAR fan and I love Oriental design.) Also want to make
a quilt for DH that has open wheel race cars on one side and golf on
the other. (We're weird, I know, but we're happy!!!g)

Barb
When is the bazaar this year and is it in the same place?
DH would like to try the salsa this year.
I guess your feeling a little better if you are getting things
done for the bazaar.
