Lynne Lynne nothing to do with age , they are just so beautiful ,,,,,and deserve protection mirjam I suppose if I was the one who made them I'd let people sit on them. I could knit another if one was stained. It reminds me of the time when my kids were very little. I make wonderful rolls for Thanksgiving and my kids wanted to eat some. I said no were saving them for Thanksgiving. My daughter so sad said, "But mom you're the roll maker. You could just make some more." She didn't know that it took me about 6 hours to make a batch. But she was right and I gave them each 2 rolls and made another batch. Life's just too short to skimp on rolls and not let people sit on beautiful knitted seats. Lynne |

Yes, a more vigorous interior decorator would have recovered them more often, but of the ones I put on 15 or so years ago, there's nothing wrong with 2 out of 6. And some of what's wrong with the others is wear and not stain. So I think once I knit 6, I'll be able to keep up. I am thinking of spraying them with scotchgard, but so far not vigorously enough to actually go look for my spray can. -- Laura ) (617) 661-8097 233 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02139 http://www.laymusic.org/ http://www.serpentpublications.org |

Laura,
I only popped in here for a moment and happened to look at your lovely seatcovers. Never thought of using a sweater pattern for a covering; what a great idea. Perhaps I might try that in future as cushions on my kitchen chairs, or throw pillows in the living room. (I'll have some time coming up shortly, due to being laid off. Now, if I can get the ambition up. . . ) Your chairs are beautiful; thanks for showing them to us. Regards, Carey in MA (Sorry about any previous direct email; I seem to keep hitting the wrong key when replying.) "Laura Conrad" wrote in message ...
