Default Stash Raid!

Saturday Mom and I went to a quilter's yard sale and bought several
quilt tops. Today that lady's sister called Mom to invite us to a
stash raid. Is she a sweetie or what? We had a nice visit and got to
know more about her. She took a beginner's class in quilting when she
retired at 60 years of age and has been quilting for 35 years now. We
got to look through her picture record of the quilts she made, and one
was a winner in a quilt show in Pensacola FL a few years ago.

Mom and I have two big boxes of fabrics now, and the lady didn't want
any money at all. I was floored by that. I have to store it here
because Mom doesn't have enough storage space. It's a hardship I
think I can live with. ;-D

I have plenty of storage space here in New Mexico; it's completely
landlocked dry and clean, and smoke-free. All donations accepted at no
charge.

Wow! What a wonderful thing for her to do for you! OTOH, you did a
lovely thing for her, too, looking at her pictures. I'm sure she loved
being able to show them to someone new.

I live in a charmed part of Virginia myself. High and dry, no
earthquakes, and little of any other catastrophic fits Mother Nature
provides us with so I think I'll be the keeper of the stash. Besides,
I already have to share with Mom. :-)

Hee Hee Hee. You'd have a hard time deciding when to come over. My
work schedule changes weekly. I have a hard time keeping up with it
myself sometimes. You never know when you might get a chance to look
at some of it though. I plan to use some of it in HUG blocks.

We spent about three hours visiting and sorting fabrics. I got the
feeling she was really enjoying herself.
