Floche?
All of a sudden I see this name associated with floss, but can't find a
reasonable "definition". So experts of needlework, what the Hades is floche! Cheryl |

Here's a page direct from DMC about Floche. Apparently it's made by Anchor
too. http://www.dmc-usa.com/ Lucille "Cheryl Isaak" wrote in message ... All of a sudden I see this name associated with floss, but can't find a reasonable "definition". So experts of needlework, what the Hades is floche! Cheryl |

Sorry--wrong page but if you type floche in the search engine on the lower
right side it will come up. "Lucille" wrote in message ... Here's a page direct from DMC about Floche. Floche is single stranded floss which reminds me of the DMC flower thread. Not
a fan of it myself. There are those needlecrafters who are buying white DMC floche and hand-dying it to sell. Rhea from KY, USA |

I was curious about floche so did a google. It is a five ply thread that looks
a bit the way I remember flower thread looking. There are some excellent color pictures at www.elegantstitches.com. I decided to look around their site a bit and discovered it is a new store, or new to me, and not too far away. Maybe I will just drive out there and check them out. Thanks for the question...a new needlework shop...more stash here I come. Boo |

Wondering aloud - is this the same stuff that DMC ( and others) sell as
"craft thread"? Cheryl On 12/1/04 6:41 PM, in article , "Lucille" wrote: Here's a page direct from DMC about Floche. It seemed to be a separate thing on the DMC site but I didn't go that far
into it. I've never seen that thread up close and personal and would love to know if indeed it is the same as the craft thread. Lucille "Cheryl Isaak" wrote in message ... I have flower thread. Not the same at all. I also have a stash of floche.
Floche is very soft, disintigrates rapidly - so use shorter lengths. Smockers use it, and often iron it first to make it flat. It is more akin to broder threads than to flower threads - which are more akin to pearl. Floche is beautiful, shiny, and if used carefully can add something different to your embroidery. In one word: no. :-) If you email me you're snail mail, I'll send you
some so you can see it up close and personal. I only have pastels, from my early days of sewing/embroidering for babies.
