Default Houston - Bad News

Okay, wiff and kid have been in Houston since Wednesday. They've yet
to see the quilts. They spent their time in the vendor area. Went to
lunch today, and the wiff's purse was stolen and the person that stole
it went on a spending spree. I'm not going to call the credit cards in
just yet because the theif is spending less than the wiff. (JUST
KIDDING!! No theft occurred!) In all seriousness, the credit card
fraud system did work though and they shut down her card (3 hours and
10 purchases registered in 7 states). Its turned back on.
She went to the lunch area today and didn't find the RCTQ group.
She'll check again tomorrow.
She did get offerred a job by one lady. Will fly her down to the show
next year and pay for the hotel if she'll work the show in her booth.
I see this as a zero sum game. She'd just look at it as more available
cash.
Oh well, the Cabela's store in Omaha opened today. I guess I'll go out
and do some retail therapy on my own.
Cheers.

lol Thanks for keeping us up to date.

Sounds like you (really deep deep down) enjoy their
"exploits" as much as they do. Fortunate indeed is the man
who can find joy in another's joy.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't go out for a little therapy
of your own of course!

Sounds like they are having a wonderful time! Too bad you can't fly in to
see the show for a day.....after all their retail therapy is completed, of
course. Your wife must be as personable as you seem to be to be offered a
job for next year. Ick, very awkward sentence....read it out loud and it
works ok. g Hope your trip to Cabela's is as fun as the Houston groups'

I went to the lunch area today as well, looking for TDB and didn't see
it - but I was so intent on looking for the banner that I walked right
past the table with all the RCTQ women and the big RCTQ purse with the
big handwritten letters stating RCTQ that was perched on top of Pati's
head !!!!!!!!!! Go figure

Many of us will be there again tomorrow - two of us today had our RCTQ
logo badges on.

Hope to catch her tomorrow!

Frank:
Well, I had a fantastic time in Houston.
I hope your family did too. I may or
may not have seen/met them, but it is
hard to know. There were a great number
of beautiful women (and a few charming
men) quilters of all ages, many of whom
wore fantastic creations! On Friday I
bought (and wore) a rhinestone encrusted
black Urban Cowgirl Hat. (In case anyone
noticed ... that was yours truly!)
PAT, glad to be home in Virginia

Okay, the wiff and kid are now down in Houston for the show. Wiff is
wearing a black and white patchwork jacket, kid is wearing her creation
that is mauve, sand and grey with stencilled flowers. Kid has already
been stopped multiple times and photographed (jacket is really
impressive, then again, so is she). They're in checking out the
preview right now.
Don't know what's worse, them down there or the phone message that she
got with a personal invitation to the Younker's customer appreciation
event (runs through Sunday, just like the Houston show).
I just keep thinking about the lines in "Pretty Woman:" Richard Gere -
"She has my card." Clothing store clerk -"And we'll help her use it!"
