I respect your right to lurk, but if each of you would try and become just
a tad more out of the closet, just think of how much more fun this place
would be. Try one post, or better yet one thread start, or one question.
This board is really drying up, and that's the primary reason for the
silliness and OT bashing... there's just not much else to talk about.

Give some thought to why the lurkers chose to not post.

Let me guess, it's because such profound information flows from YOUR
keyboard?
They are so busy absorbing what YOU have to say that they don't have time?
Is that it?

Well...let's see now. This is the internet and therefore there are
lurkers everywhere, on every forum, on every newsgroup. It's been that
way since the beginning. All part of the 80/20 rule. It has nothing to
do with what people post. About 12 years ago, there was a similar post
asking about lurkers. At that time this newsgroup was extremely busy
with maybe 20-50 posts a day. The percentage of lurker responses was
about the same as it is with this survey. Likewise, a similar post was
put up on alt.crafts.professional and it ended up with the same
results. You would think that with all the college teaching you do or
have done you'd understand that. In any given class, you will only have
about 20% of the sudents actively participate.

Lurkers need not fear a harsh reaction here, they are welcome. Only
overbearing, uninformed morons that constantly abuse the rules and
deliberately make themselves pariahs, like yourself, should beware. You
have become the designated target on almost every board on the
internet. You seem to be safe on your board, where nobody posts anyway,
and of course, you post on Sybil's board. Other than that you are
unwelcome everywhere. Gosh, I wonder why . . . Brock

You are going to be in trouble with the National Toad Breeder's Association
if you constantly demean toads by comparing Dennis to one.
