"Fabric" in glass
Look at this by Katie Green
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...6085 383&rd=1 Can you imagine it in a metal that has color change from heat (as copper will do, eg)? Tina |

I'm madly in love with copper mesh in glass. But wow, I haven't seen any
true woven copper mesh available!!!! Way fun, way cool on Katie! Most of the copper looks ugly ashy black when it's heated. It's only after it cools that it miraculously turns that cherry red. It's a major "hold your breath and pray" moment, putting that ugly black sh*t in the kiln. KarenK |

i have a customer that wants me to duplicate the bracelet i gifted to
Manda --- but heated/treated to make it purple. **sigh** i'm STILL working on it! Copper makes me crazy, plain & simple! I lust for it in all forms. I'd love to figure out how to do the heat-reactive colors that I've seen in "wall sculptures." We found hammered copper sheet that I'm dying to use for a backsplash (36 x 48" for $108). I just have to figure out how to cut/bend it myself (for find a metal guy who will do it for us). What it does IN glass is too cool. KarenK |

Could you put it on something else to get it to turn "copper green"? Is
that the patina you're talking about? I didn't know copper turned such a bright red color. I guess I was thinking about colors that are actually copper oxide colors. Heat colouring copper is simply like that - variable. If you want a more reliable way to colour copper, try patina instead. Why don't you allow me to take some of those "mistakes" off your hands? I'm
sure I wouldn't mind the color, so long as I can "practice" some of my beading techniques... You don't mind, do you??? g "vj" wrote in message ... vj found this in rec.crafts.beads, from "Karen_AZ" : ]Copper makes me crazy, plain & simple! I lust for it in all forms. I didn't know copper turned such a
bright red color yep - copper turns RED under enamel or glass.... Silver turns yellow- and almost looks like gold.... I don't know what might turn green -- maybe iron.. I've seen iron meshes in glass that were a blacky-green color.... Cheryl DRAGON BEADS Flameworked beads and glass http://www.dragonbeads.com/ |

A friend in town made a leaf of woven strips of PMC mesh, added more detail
with a syringe, and then beaded it with pearls and crystals. Yup, if it sits still long enough..... Tina "Diana Curtis" wrote in message ...
