Bone & Wood
Wood and bone carving has existed on the territory of Kazakhstan for a
very long time. According to historians, during the Sak-Massaget epoch (8th - 3rd BC) decorative ornaments (stylized images of various animals and ornamental motives) were made from wood and bone. During the Turkic khanate (6th - 8th centuries), many articles including household articles were made from wood decorated with complex relief engraving.
