Okey Dokey!!

I'm Larisa, posting as CNYstitcher. I'm 32, and have been married for
just over 7 years to a wonderful man who indulges me in fabric and
decorating changes. We have a 4yo boy, recently diganosed with ADHD,
and a 15mo girl, diagnosed with developmental delays. To keep sane, I
quilt, sew clothing, do cross-stitch, and redecorate our house. I
started quilting about 2 or 3 years ago (can't quite remember) and have
determined that this year I will attack things that I have said were too
difficult for me in the past. I have 3 QIs, all cats - Nugget 8yrs,
Shadow 7yrs, and Shadows littermate Spirit. What have i forgotten???

years, mostly machine piecing and machine quilting. I love bright colors,
and I collect vintage textiles.

What fun!!

I'm "Nana" (because of all the rolls I've had in life that the funist!!).
I'm married for almost 32 years to a great guy I met in high school. I live
in a suburb of NYC - Scarsdale. I have two grown kids; my DD is married and
she and my SIL have my grandbaby - now three years old (known as Nana's
Sunshine). My DS is unmarried and living a few blocks away so I have an
almost-always-empty-nest. My DH and I are members of a Religious Order as
"Associates" (if anyone is really interested I can explain).

I have two QI's; a cat that knows everything and is more than willing to
tell you so and a puppy that is just learning from the cat how much he
doesn't know.

I have been quilting for six and a smidge years and love traditional
patterns and most bright colors as well as batiks, jewel tones, etc. I
usually machine piece and hand quilt. I have made four queen size, numerous
twin size and bunches of crib, cradle and in-between sizes.

This past year I've experienced many major medical issues - some of which
I'm receiving treatments for regularly (which really interferes with the
stuff I REALLY want to do). I'm also trying to parent my parents at the
moment which further slows me down.

And the sad part, is that just about sums up my life - with the exception of
loving to cook and garden.

My name is Ann and I'm from Alberta, Canada. I'm married to my DH for 27
years and we have 2 grown sons. The youngest will be married in June and my
next project will be a quilt for their wedding present.

I work full time as a legal secretary. Have a cat as my QI. I have been
quilting for about 20 years. This group is wonderful inspiration and many
of my quilts have been done in recent years. I try really hard to finish a
project so only have about 2 WIP. I enjoy my sewing machine for both quilt
construction and quilting....none of the hand work for this gal. You can
have a peek at some of my projects in my album, link under my name.

I'm Linda ... I have 2 grown daughters -- one newlywed and one in her
Junior year at Univ of Delaware and currently studying in Puebla,
Mexico. I began quilting about 15 years ago when my girls decided
they wanted to wear jeans and t-shirts instead of the beautiful
dresses Mom was making them.

I began collecting sewing machines about 10 years ago beginning with a
treadle. I just bought my 14th -- a Singer 301. My collection includes
several treadles now, including one that was used to make costumes for
Kate Smith, and a New Home with an original fashion book from the turn
of the century. Mostly, I sew on my Brother 1500, Bernina 1630, or
Brother 8200.

I'm Donna and post as Donna--creative huh? LOL I live in Northeast
Louisiana as of about a year and a half ago. Before that lived 17 years in
central Florida. I am married to wonderful DH. Our kids are all grown and
married--2 sons and one daughter and five grandkids. We have one QI, a
miniature poodle, Jingles. He is spoiled rotten and curls up on any quilt
that is in his reach. I work part-time in the OR and recovery room of an eye
surgery center and am working real hard on being retired. But my quilting
habit keeps me going to work. LOL
I have been quilting for about 5 or 6 years. Everyone here is a great
inspiration and a fountain of knowledge. I don't post much but have learned
so much by reading the posts!

I am Judy and post as judy in fort worth

DH and I have been married for almost 30 years and have lived in the Fort
Worth area for 16. We are originally from Illinois (Go Illinois State!) We
have two DS's---neither married (I am thinking about posting DS#1 on Ebay
looking for a suitable gf). DS#1 is 24 and an athletic trainer in South
Texas, DS#2 is a student at LSU in Baton Rouge. I am an elementary school
librarian and DS teaches hs math.
I prefer to machine piece and machine quilt although I do send out anything
larger than a twin to a good friend who has a longarm machine business. I
have been quilting for 23 years and give away many of my quilts as gifts. I
do commission work if I can find it. No QI's.
My quilts are located at
Favorite colors are brights, reds and blues.
Just finished a New Year's Eve mystery with another group and have an attic
windows quilt that needs bordering. Too many UFO"s to count and let's not
even talk about PIGS!

I'm Anita, posting as Irrational Number, because,
well, I like irrational numbers. I'm in northern
California, with 18-month-old Pillbug and Rocky is
due next June, and been married for 4 years to a
husband whom I've taught to say "you cannot have
enough fabric!"

I'm a newbie to quilting, been at it for a year so
far, but have had to stop for awhile due to constant
nausea and exhaustion. I hope to pick it up again
now that I'm past the first trimester.

I work full time and wish I could spend more time
with my kid.

Hi, everyone! Happy New Year! I am Alice from New Jersey, near Cherry
Hill. I have been quilting since 1995 and am totally hooked. I am married
to my "last" husband since 1990 and getting ready to take him on a really
nice cruise for our 15th anniversary this year. I just haven't told him yet
that it is a quilting cruise - hehehe.

I have four children - two mine, two his - all four are "ours". Mine are 32
and 34, his are 18 and 21. My son lives in Florida and has a room ready for
us anytime. My daughter, now living with us, just presented us with a
beautiful grandson who will have no face skin left after all our kisses.
His son just joined the Marines and is in advanced infantry training at Camp
Jejeune, NC. His daughter is almost finished her teaching degree in art and
just had her tonsils out today. All four could not be better children nor
could we love them more! I also take care of my 85 year old mom in Florida.
So we are what they call members of the "sandwich" generation - kids on one
end, parents on the other. Currently we have 4 dogs and 4 cats living with
us as well - half from us, half from my DD when she moved in with us.

I use a Pfaff Creative 7570 to quilt. I prefer the color choosing, cutting
and piecing. I have two great ladies that do beautiful machine quilting. I
would do more hand quilting if I were better at it. I work full time plus
have a web design/hosting business.

I hope to get more quilting done in 2005 now that my grandson is here. I
also need to find a more appropriate siggy quotation when I get the time.

Welcome to all the newbies!
