Hug Quilt Pati update
I think I sent two blocks for the Gifford quilt(s). Also involved in that
same Baseball Swap. On that one we got guilt-tripped. I'll participate in these things when they are local -- when I can look the person in the eye. Where there are 100 other people right in the same locale. After somebody in Carol Doak's group did the same disappearing act with our QOV blocks, I sent them to someone on this group. Pat somebody. In Virginia somewhere? I don't remember seeing the pictures from her. That doesn't mean she didn't post them somewhere, it just means I don't remember. So Pat, if you are here, please remind me where the pictures are. Kay Ahr now in Indianapolis, Indiana USA instead of Reno/Sparks, Nevada "Sandy E" wrote in message ... Howdy! And this is where I call "FOUL!" - receiving money & ignoring the group. Hey, we've all had our trials & tribulations, but I don't find that a good enough excuse to drop out & hide. Most of the Hug projects turn out just fine. And we're all glad we participate & support. Thanks to all of you who follow thru'. But there are Some People...! Remember the Columbine High School Quilt? The really big, 11'x11' quilt? It got stuck in Plano, just north of Dallas, with the quilter who was hand-stippling the center square. She went no-response, also, and a couple of us went looking for her. I offered (really, it was an offer, not a threat g) to meet her at her apartment to pick it up (yes, I knew exactly where she lived, 50 miles from me); I explained that we were all concerned, I used to live in Plano & could travel right to her door. Well, 3 days later she sent that quilt to me, mostly un-quilted (that center square is gorgeous) & I commenced to Finishing it. Several of us sent her our thanks & best wishes, and we heard from her no more. Pati does not "speak" to me; I dunno' why; we got along alright the one time we met in Houston; after that, nothing. Whatever; this ain't junior high school & I'm not competing for Most Popular. But she's been on this group long enough to know how it works, how the Hug projects are done, and shame on her for letting y'all down. (No, I didn't sign on when I saw who was in charge; experience tells.) If she can drag herself to Facebook, surely she can contact SOMEONE on this group to cry "Uncle!" or "HELP!" No response? Bullsqwatchy! Having gone thru' something similar w/ last year's Baseball Swap (from the 2010 season), I'm just shaking my head & wondering, what the f#@k is so hard about this? You sign up, you take responsibility, you make it happen. Or you contact YOUR FRIENDS & explain that you can't do it, life is overwhelming, & ask for help. But shame on you for keeping the fabric AND the money & ignoring the best support team ever. Meanwhile, Rep. Gifford is doing rather well, God bless her. Well wishes can be sent via http://giffords.house.gov/contact/well-wishes.shtml That's my opinion; yours may differ. Ragmop/Sandy - wondering if anyone wants to show up at Mz.Cook's front door... ;-P |

Pat and the QOV I forgot about
Whooo-hoo!! Thank you, Pat for posting the picture on Facebook! (I go
there daily but not that often here anymore.) I tried to save the photo on my hard drive and couldn't find the photos I took as I finished each block. It took a few cups of coffee and bit of searching, but I found them! And guess what else I found -- the address label I made so I could send the blocks to you, the pictures of all the QOV blocks I've made, and copies of emails from you. Holy mackeral, I made a total of twelve blocks!! I think I only sent you nine of them though because one of them was not in my series of star blocks. One did end up in a quilt of Carol Doak's 1500 Member Celebration blocks. (Now you know we're talking about a long time ago!) November 2007 was the last photo entry. Indeed, that's when life got totally wacko. I feel lucky to have survived what I was put through starting July 2007. The culmination was that cardiac incident back in January 2011 that led to early retirement. I was carted out of my Reno school in an ambulance and never returned. No damage to the heart muscle and possible brain damage turned out to be an unfounded concern. And now it feels so good to be back living in Indianapolis. No cardiac rehab needed but still recovering strength and energy levels. Thanks again for the photo! Need any more blocks? Kay Ahr in Indianapolis, Indiana USA "Kay Ahr" wrote in message ...
