My DGD had homework in kindergarten. I thought that odd but since Arkansas
is one of those states that relies heavily on test scores the teachers want
success early on.

DSs karate instructors are willing to set out collection boxes for needed
items....are things getting through now and if so, what all is needed and
where would I send them??

Larisa, this is just a suggestion, but if children and their parents are
the most likely to be putting into the donation boxes, how about school
supplies and new and gently used toys, books, games, etc. for displaced
children? (probably the kid powered and not battery powered kind) I know
several daycares here in Springfield are collecting those things and
diapers, baby clothes, etc. to be distributed to day cares, nursery
schools, and families in the affected areas. And I can't imagine what it
would be like to be a 5 or 6 year old whose family has lost everything,
including your Magna Doodle or favorite match box cars and to be sitting
around in temporary housing with nothing to do.

Maureen

got it added....have to get the list up to the school tomorrow....DS is
changing from the "baby" class where they areally aren't learning anything
to the beginners class where he will actually be almost at the same level
