Oh dear me!!!! I LOVE that lady who wrote that book already and I have never
seen it before LOL I certainly like her way of thinking and doing though! ~KK~ who is off in a frantic rush to purchase said book!!!! -- ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 'The road to success is not a path you find, but a trail you blaze.' -- Robert Brault "Kathy Applebaum" wrote in message . com... "~KK~ in B.C." wrote in message news:FNNsc.8603$J02.4515@edtnps84... besides, how is it going to be an original and ~KK~ true quilt if it looks perfect with points like every other HST top out there huh? yeah.... that's it..... original! me! mine! no two alike! Yup that is my theory alright! The rest of you can conform to those perfect point people and just blend in, not me, no way, I gotta be me!!! Sounds like you need the book "That Dorky Homemade Look". I read it on a plane recently, and it was sure hard not to laugh outloud. One of her principles is that she has no respect for anyone who can only make triangles that have three sides. Another is that if you don't cut off at least half your triangle points, you're just showing off. I loved the part where she was told to sort her fabric by "mood", so she got out every piece of her stash, talked to it to find out what mood it was in, and discovered that most of her fabric was just plain cranky. Seems to me if you can truly embrace the philosophy of being original by eschewing perfect points, you're all set to become an art quilter. Welcome! (bwa ha ha ha ha!!!!!) -- Kathy A. Repelling points... I see something to that theory! ~KK~ who is going to tell everyone that it was a heavy magnetic air day when she made these evil triangles! -- ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 'The road to success is not a path you find, but a trail you blaze.' -- Robert Brault "Shona in NZ" wrote in message ... Snicker Sorry I can't be of any help because my points don't match either :-) Some are so far off you would think they are repelled. Draw?? as in use a ruler and pencil or some such intruments?????? golly gee
I never woulda thunk of such a thing!!! Repeat after me. "It's just a design element." =) For serious help, I suggest resorting to pins. Hold a pin and connect the dots. Then use other pins to hold the seam in place. My mother started quilting just before the rotary blade became available. She still draws *all* of her seam lines. It really does help with matching points for the triangles and diamonds. Then practice, practice, practice. -georg |

did you do them one of these ways?
http://quilting.about.com/library/weekly/aa022298.htm or did you fiddle with the bias edge and work the traditional way? I still have trouble sometimes with the "easy" way, but usually make them just a tad bigger so i have enough room for squaring them up. Still afraid of large triangles. Which is why my Jacob's ladder is sitting half pieced in my guest room for the past, oh... 9 yrs or so.... Ok, gotta ask...
Why would you get a pin cushion thrown at you for suggesting open pressing seams? Is there a reason NOT to press them open?
