I'm not much help on this topic as I rarely knew that DS was teething until
I saw the new tooth that had poked through. He would eat a lot though, I think it was because it felt good to chew on. Another clue I had was that he chewed on his teether until he started teething and then didn't want anything to do with it. It had little bumps on it and I think that hurt his gums more than helped to massage them. When he did want something to chew on, it was usually my finger. Sindir-ella "melinda" wrote in message ... DS is most definetley teething, I can feel one! But he will not sleep during the day and is very unsettled, not crying just whingey - very whingey HELP! -- Melinda http://cust.idl.com.au/athol |

When I had my last baby (8 yrs ago) I found a vibrating teething ring! He
loved it. I think I got it at Wal-Mart. Shelly "Sindir" wrote in message ... I'm not much help on this topic as I rarely knew that DS was teething until I saw the new tooth that had poked through. My grandson is a terrible teether and he's had teeth since he was 4 months
old - hope that's the only thing he gets from his uncle! He started teething about 2 months old and my daughter gave him tempra. She still does when he's going through a hard time. His molars are coming through now and he's just 13 months old! My son was a terrible teether also and I rubbed rye on his gums. He's perfectly normal today and will soon be 30! There are pain soothing jels available for easing this. Unfortunately you will encounter bouts of this upset untill all the teeth are through. Also, give him something to bite! There are teething rings available that you can put in the freezer that are quite good. -- Kate XXXXXX Lady Catherine, Wardrobe Mistress of the Chocolate Buttons http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk Click on Kate's Pages and explore! |

I used a really weird teether for both of my kids. I would buy mini bagels
at the bagel shop and freeze them. They would gum them, not really getting any bagel, but it had a good taste as they gummed them, were cold and nowhere near as messy as those horrible teething bisquits. They kids still love bagels to this day! I used this same method years later when I got my last QI. The only side affect he had was that he would cry like mad when I took him for car rides and happen to drive by a bagel store and not stop to get him a bagel. My son (now 3 yrs.) chewed on a number of things. Mainly his toys. We
tried teething rings in the frige or freezer, but he preferred his toys. Also we used Oragel ointment for teething and occasionally some Tylenol if he was really having a hard time. Another thing he really seemed to like was a Gerber product that was like really hard gramcrackers. Infact I think that they were even called teething biscuits, but I'm not sure. Any way, they were stick like. They are really hard so that they can't bite of little pieces and choke. Instead they make a mush mess as they suck and chew on them. My son was a big mess after them, but he was also much happier. HTH Charlotte "melinda" wrote in message ... DS is most definetley teething, I can feel one! Frozen bagels are the absolute BEST...they get nice and gummy soft after
they've been chewed on and thawing a bit... The Blessed Fiddy, Patroness Saint of the Disorganized LC in Sunny So Cal Personality Development Specialist (Full-Time Mom!) |
